Tested in WoW on an incredibly busy server (perhaps 200 players on in Orgrimmar) and this card rarely strayed from 25FPS. A far cry from the jet engines of the 580s! At 65% and below it is drowned out by my moderately quiet case fans and can't be heard. So far I am seeing roughly 33%+ increase in nearly all games and tests I've run so far! Temp hasn't gone above 70 and the fan, even at 85% is not too loud. I have not overclocked yet but have started benchmarking on stock settings to good results. Despite the 580s being powerful cards, I am utterly blown away here. This card replaces two EVGA GTX580s with AXP Coolers I had in my system.
Pros: Was fortunate to score one of these during the short window of availability on launch day.
The Witcher 2 however still gives even this card some issues if cranked, but then again that game will bring any card down currently if maxed.
Skyrim with nearly 100 mods and all eye candy cranked NEVER dips below 60fps for more than a second, BF3 runs ultra w/o breaking a sweat, Crysis 2 with HD tex mod maxed out, all three have no issues at all. I have ZERO regrets moving from those cards to the 680! Main system specs - 27" Asus monitor 1900x1200, 2700K 16gb ram, Asus Rampage Extreme IV ROG, and this 680 running +160/+500 overclock - everything water cooled and runs better than I ever imagined.
Then AMD drivers and lack of optimizations crippled my cards.
Then moved to tri-xfire 6870s w/6870x2 and didn't think I would want/need to upgrade for years. Overall Review: I have been in the AMD camp since the 4890s were released. They need to hurry up and release the custom PCB versions as this card still has plenty of room for improvement/performance left on the table. Still amazed I was able to snag one off newegg opening day. Most likely if you're reading this you know the rest of the generic pro's that go along with the card (adaptive vsync, multi monitor "surround", great drivers out the gate, precision x, EVGA new warranty, etc., etc.) If you game at 1900x1200 or less, this card will not dissapoint.Ĭons: In short supply. Very fast card, runs cool, overclocks well, efficient, chews up every game and benchmark you throw at it! Very glad I didn't wait for the 4gb version. Pros: Some may dissagree, but I see the price as a "pro" since it outperforms the 7970 in nearly every way and comes in costing less. In addition, you can enjoy 3D movies and 3D digital photographs from in eye popping, crystal-clear quality. Get up to 2x monitor and keyboard brightness with NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology.

At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high.
